I know i need to do more reading and practise around this unit..especially the transitive, intransitive etc. At the moment it feels like a foreign language and though I need to understand this in order to teach it, I think it is a blessing that I find it so difficult. It gives me greater empathy for thise who have to learn it as a second language.As a native English speaker, using the past tense forms conversationally or in writing essays come easy to me; however, specifically defining and explaining the various distinguishing factors between their usage is more challenging to explain to second language/foreign language learners. Reading this chapter has helped to lay out those differences.
