TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Linda, Part 1

Linda is taking a 120-hour course with ITTT while living in China. In this TEFL review video Linda talks about the first unit of her TEFL certificate course. One aspect of the course that has impressed Linda is the details outlined in the introductory unit about continuing support from ITTT. Graduates of ITTT’s TEFL courses will receive lifetime job placement assistance including interview preparation and CV writing.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This section was about pronunciation and phonology. English is not a phonetic language. There are many exceptions to any and every rule. There are plosives, fricatives, affricates, etc. Intonation is the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence, whereas stress is that on individual words. Side note: I really do not like the phonetic alphabet. This unit is an overview of how one may go about designing a course for young English language learners. It covered different types of tests that can be administered and for what purposes. It also highlighted some challenges and restrictions teachers may face when designing a syllabus (assuming that the teacher is even the one designing the syllabus).
