Karen is from the USA and is living and working in Italy. In order to keep up with changing education policy Karen decided to take an online TEFL course with ITTT. In this TEFL review video she talks about her experiences of studying TEFL online.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit gives detailed information on how to effectively plan a lesson. The unit describes how lesson plans should be flexible and allow for possible changes. The unit describes the different lesson phases and gives suggestions about which lesson types work for teaching different subjects. The unit also provides some good lesson planning outlines. In this section, I learned about the different model verbs, verb phrases, and passive and active voice. I found this section to be a little challenging but it was good that it went over passive voice because I can see that being challenging for students. Additionally, the different types of clauses and how to teach them to students will come in handy.
