Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit has allowed me to understand the importance in using various equipment and teaching aids within a classroom of ESL. This also includes the effective ways to use them in helping me as a teacher to assist the learning of students. These include equipment such as whiteboards, overhead projectors, course books, video cameras, and recorders. It seems to me that the teacher must be observant in the classroom, noticing student participation, his own presence in the room, and connection with the students. There needs to be a balance between teacher giving instruction, and student participation and learning-by-doing. Flexibility by the teacher is paramount, adapting to varying conditions.
