The Past Tenses - Past Perfect - Structure and Usages

This video is part of our series on the past tenses in English. In this video, we take a look at the past perfect tense. This tense is used to talk about a past action and a related past action before that. We relate two past actions to each other.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

Tenses can be a difficult subject to grasp. This lesson talks about present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. There are several examples and good tips on helping a non-English speaker to understand this and use it. One thing I found insightful was the usages, it helped to solidify the rules for me.In this unit i have learnt that teachers have alot of equipment and teaching aids available to us. These teaching aids give us flexible options to keep students enthusiastic and interested. As a teacher we can incorporate various teaching aids and equipment into our lessons to keep our lessons interesting and still get good learning outcomes.
