I have learned the proper grammar terminology for parts of speech and the differentiation between transitive and intransitive, tenses, and the groupings within different parts of speech. I have also learned which grammar points ESL students have difficulty with and to watch out for, as well as ways to possibly better explain grammar points to students.I think it is easier than present tenses. The important part of past sentence is knowing its usage. Though the structure of past tenses is not too different from present tenses, just that past tenses is more obvious as it indicates a past time. Time is also important in knowing the past tenses and memorizing the regular and irregular verbs are crucial.
