This unit deals with some criteria to be followed when teaching Vocabulary, Introducing grammatical structures and Teaching Language functions. In selecting Vocabulary, some criteria are used such as Appropriacy to the students, Appropriacy to the task, frequency and coverage, and teaching ability. This unit states some items on what a student need to know about vocabulary item which are meaning, use, word grammar, interaction, spelling and pronunciation. It also exposes the Engage, Study, Activate (ESA) the techniques for vocabulary teaching and how to plan a Typical ESA lesson for Vocabulary lesson, introducing the grammatical structures and teaching language functions. This unit has benefited me in knowing how to plan good Typical ESA lessons on vocabulary, Grammar and function lessons
