This unit focused on the considerations needed for teaching several different categories of English learners, namely beginners, individuals students, children/young learners, and Special Purpose groups with an emphasis on teaching business English. Advice was given on things to do and not to do, and some of the advantages and disadvantages encountered in teaching the various groups. For me the important lesson from this unit, as it corresponds with my particular area of interest, was the advice on teaching business English, and the point made that the teacher is not there to teach business, as that is the students' own field of expertise, but to teach English.
