In this unit it was enlightening to learn about authentic and unauthenti or created material. The authentic material is real which is not level based and hence is more appropriate for intermediate and advanced learners. The teacher created material is more level or ability based and is more suitable for beginners. The sample material provided is helpful and gives interesting ideas. The role play cards are excellent for the activate phase. The importance of the course books cannot be undermined. They provide a tried and tested framework for the syllabus. However, the teachers need to be creative and supplement or alter it according to the needs of the students.
