It is interesting to see how manageable ESA formations are in real-time. It's also telling how the teacher can be engaging and set the tone and atmosphere of the class at the very beginning by demonstrating a positive rapport with the students. This is immediately engaging and motivates the students to participate in class. The teacher in the second lesson made good use of time-keeping and asserting the duration of the activity by altering his tone of voice for the specific activity. This method was encouraging and not too demanding for the students which was then followed with more flexible methods of teaching that relaxed the students into more formal talk-time.
