I think that the thing I learned the most of in this unit were the usages of the different types of past tenses. As a native speaker of English, I use all of these very naturally without really thinking of when I need to use what form. This unit showed me how confusing the differences between tenses can be; for example if actions are going on and are continued, or if they are not concerned with it or whether they did not continue after. These subtle nuances allowed me to see the English language from the perspective of an ELL, which as a teacher is vital to see what your students are going through in order to help them better.
