Unit 15 overviews test and when one should use them and the variety of them. There are four main types of tests overviewed in this unit including diagnostic, progress, external, and placement. Diagnostic is administered at the start of the course to test the students? knowledge of what they know and don?t know. A placement test is used to judge the students to form groups of students on ability. External exams are run by outside organizations in order to judge a students ability to acquire a job or go to a school. Finally, progress exams are administered by teachers to judge the ability of the individual student.
