This unit provides a brief, but comprehensive and practical overview of the past tenses (past simple, past continuous, past perfect, past perfect continuous). It provides useful guidelines for teaching the form, different usages and potential errors that can occur in the classroom. Although I was pretty familiar with most of the things introduced in this unit, I did find the activate stage teaching ideas very interesting and useful (detective game, telling stories with different past tenses, CV, diaries, interview roleplay, making a story prompted by pictures) and I will definitely start using them in my daily teaching practice.
