There are many roles of the teacher, each one as important as the other. Patience, kindness and good class interaction is key to keep the learners motivated in the classroom. The teacher must understand that age, culture and language level all play an important role in when teaching a new learner. I have learnt that there are many more aspect to being a good teacher than just managing the class and making it fun. I need to prompt, facilitate and be a model teacher in order to really succeed. My relationship with my students is important if I would like them to stay motivated and continue to learn English as a second language.
