This lesson taught me the importance of testing as a means to gage students knowledge as well as a means to prepare students for possible external exams. A teacher cannot properly teach their students without having a strong idea of what knowledge students have acquired and what knowledge students have not yet fully grasped. Furthermore, students who are learning English for job or educational opportunities need to be prepared for the external examinations required by the institutions they hope to join. Testing is essential to understanding student development and progression but should be presented in an non intimidating manner.
