Unit 12 reflects on the two productive skills speaking and writing. We learned that both fluency and accuracy are of equal importance in the learning process, with accuracy forming a big part of the study phase and fluency being concentrated on in the activate phase. Accuracy activities such as drilling, prompting, guided role-play are controlled by the teacher in order to produce and memorize correct language. It is most effective if followed by a fluency based activity in order to allow the students to try out what they have learned, encourage them to speak and give them some freedom to use their acquired learning creatively.
