This unit provides an overview on how to carefully select the best possible materials that can suit the needs of the students the most, which should include a mix of authentic and created materials. As a kind of self reflection, I do find myself often being too pushy on ordering students to read authentic materials; instead, I think it maybe better for me if I first motivate them by using suitable created materials and then guide them through reading authentic materials, then the students can perhaps benefit even more from the lessons.
