This unit taught me about the benefits and consequences of using a course book. I took from the unit that a course book, as long as it is appropriately selected, can be very useful for teaching. However it is important to remain flexible and not rely on or solely follow the course book. I think that a mixture of course book work as well as other activities would provide a good balance whilst keeping the class engaged and motivated.
