This unit on evaluation and testing was quite helpful for me just to learn about the various ways in which students? progress can be evaluated, some of which I was not familiar with beforehand such as tutorials. It seems that tests are something that most students usually dread but they have a lot of benefits and value not only for me as the teacher but for them as well. For example, through an initial placement test and periodic progress tests, I can see if my students are learning the material and what areas they still need help. Therefore, I can formulate a strategy on how to teach them the material they do not understand.
