This unit was an interesting read for me because I began teaching, and attended teachers' training college in the era of 'traditional methodologies and approaches\". Granted that the concepts are the same as those espoused today, some of the terminology used is different. I like the ESA model. Last week, while my students were in their 'activate' stage, they were correcting the mistakes of their peers. What was hilarious, was that they were mimicking my exact words, mannerisms, and process of teaching. Now, they self-correct because they've gotten used to me enabling them to do self-correction and student-correction.That's awesome!
