This unit gave an overview of the various parts of speech that make up English grammar. The video and written materials explained each part's significance, usage patterns, spelling conventions, relation to the rest of a sentence, and so on, providing a good foundation for understanding the finer points of English grammar. The unit served as a good refresher for the basic points, and gave me a more thorough and conscious understanding of the different parts of speech. After completing the unit I feel that I have a more solid understanding of these points and am better equipped to explain basic grammar usage to students in the future.
