This module was about the productive skills of speaking and writing including the use of games. There were several points covered that made me more aware. Firstly, that writing can be neglected during lessons with negative results for students. Secondly, that one needs to maintain a balance between accuracy and fluency. We don't want to discourage students but at the same time we don't want to reinforce bad habits. Thirdly, that the layout of a foreign student's own language is one reason why they may have difficulty grasping English grammar. Lastly, that games can be treated as a serious learning tool, not just light entertainment.
