In contrast to the previous unit, this one teaches productive skills. The reading first differentiates speaking and writing. Then, it explains the concepts of accuracy and fluency, providing examples of when/how to focus on each one. One point that I particularly connected with was the need for in-class writing activities despite the fact that they create \"quiet time.\" In my classes, I've had the opportunity to give some crucial feedback while I observe students writing in class. These same opportunities wouldn't necessarily pop up if they were doing all their writing at home because I can't see their process when they're at home.
