This unit spoke about the various types of English language students a teacher will come across. It is interesting to learn that those with the greatest motivation may also have a harder time learning a new language due to lack of exposure. Equivalently, it is great to know that younger learners who have the ability to pick up English in the fastest time frame may also be the least motivated. This unit also helped me tie in previous lessons on how to make a class more engaging. Additionally it heightened my awareness about cultural sensitivities especially amongst business English learners and perhaps older students in the classroom.
