The unit starts with an overview of major theories for how to teach language. Each theory is explained. Then the lesson goes on to provide the structure the course focuses on, ESA. It was very helpful to get an such a large overview of this style. The example lesson plans also helped me understand the rules. My favorite part were the examples of appropriate activities for the Engage, Study, and Activate stages. I started planning future lessons using those tools. When and how often to correct was great knowledge to learn too. It made me realize I over-correct my students and I should really focus those corrections in the Study phase.
