Reading this unit I have learnt that it is important to cater to the students' interests when selecting material, so that they can stay motivated. Also to pre-teach certain vocabulary but not overdo it - I have my own experience in this as a student of a foreign language, and I would like to say that in many cases I myself preferred to ask the teacher about words I didn't understand, rather than receive a very long list of vocabulary I had not yet studied. Just enough vocabulary to understand the words that are essential to the text is indeed enough, as thinking and asking about a word, alternatively looking it up yourself, feels like it will make the word easier to memorize.
