The videos in this unit showed examples of an ineffective and an effective lesson on the modal auxiliary verbs `can` and `can't`. The differences between the two lessons were very distinct, and it the things the teacher did that made the lesson effective or ineffective were easy to identify. It demonstrated how to set up a good rapport with the class, and the importance of a well structured lesson following the ESA methodology, and the techniques a good teacher can use to make the lesson engaging and easier to understand for the students. Watching the two videos has allowed me to identify areas of my teaching style that need improvement, as well as techniques that I use well.
