In this unit I learnt the different parts of speech, including nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions and conjunctions. As a native speaker of the English language, this is something that comes naturally in my everyday speech. It is often that I don't think about how each word is particularly placed to form a sentence. This unit provided me with an in-depth review of how a simple sentence can be dissected into different parts of speech. This unit also made me realize that English is not an easy language to learn for a foreigner as there are many exceptions to the rules of grammar, which may be challenging to learners and their teachers.
