This unit actually came at the perfect time, as our school is choosing new course books for our secondary school students for next year. I was able to directly implement the material on choosing curriculum, as I worked through the materials available in our area. Our students do not pay for the materials, as we work in an impoverished area, but as a non-profit organization, cost of materials is important to our organization. I appreciated the section on adding supplemental or replacement material to the books. As a first-year teacher, it has taken me a bit to be comfortable enough to do this. I have more confidence, going forward, in how to step away from the book a bit more.
