In this lesson I learned how to adapt and supplement lessons with relevant activities, and that I am allowed to, as a teacher, to do this. I learned not to rely 100% on myself or the textbook, but rather to work with it and in order to create interesting and relevant lessons for my students. This way, also the teacher can never get bored, because every class of students, every year or couple of years will require different things from myself and the textbook. I learned that authentic teaching materials such as magazines and TV guides can be interesting and motivating for students who are at appropriate levels to take them on. I will definitely include some in my own lessons now.
