I thought that this unit was very helpful in categorizing the different levels of skills in students and the different language tools needed at each respective level. For instance, younger students may be more apt to take risks in the classroom, but also bring more behavioral problems than adult students. Going past simply age though, the unit also taught me that the types of material taught can be quite different at different skill levels. For example, one wouldn't show basic vocabulary picture flashcards to an advanced student. I now feel like I am better equipped to assess what kind of teaching I will need to apply in the classroom to foster the desired improvements in skill.
