In this unit, I expected more information, when there are some suggestions for selecting vocabulary or grammar or function, there are some parameters that are cited were the students need to know for learning the specific component of the language, but I wanted some explanations for arguing why we are taking account them and why not other things. I.E.for selecting the vocabulary in this test is cited that we don´t need to learn the origin of the word, as in my experience I think is correct, but in the unit there is no part were these things are supported giving reasons from the lexical or semantic point of view on the process of learning, there is no citation of research in which is supported. We can learn etymology not necessarily the root of which language or how a specific word had appeared or derived from, but chunking on the morphemes we can understand the whole meaning of the word and probably guess its usages. I always love those examples where we can apply on a class example. Another example in this test, there is an option where says that pronunciation probably is not a parameter that we don't need to take account when selecting vocabulary, I think, that it depends on what do you want to teach, if you are trying to teach phonetics and phonology then you will use the pronunciation and spelling as the main resource to prepare a vocabulary for practicing the articulation of the English sounds. On the part of Function of the language, I think is very low information to understand it and probably the area of study of it is the pragmatics. Then after all are very good recommendations.
