There are many special groups that a EFL teacher may encounter during their career. The groups covered in this unit were beginners, young learners, and business/ professional learners. Some differences between teaching monolingual and multilingual classes were also covered. These groups aren't mutually exclusive and are don't have definitive boundaries. Beginners can be intimidating to teachers, but teaching them is often rewarding. Lessons should be highly visual and encouraging. Children are similar, and almost always beginners. They may have discipline problems. These should be handled as effectively as possible, but bare in mind they are children. Business students will have their own needs and motivators. This teaching will vary from group to group.
