Unit 5 introduced teaching techniques that can be applied to many contexts. Frameworking helps students in that they can practice verb tenses while analyzing the history and future of a company through input, process, and output. In Case studies and Problem based learning, students work as a team to determine and solve a problem. They are able to increase vocabulary, work on multiple verb tenses and learn communication skills in a work environment. The use of Speech Act Theory in the classroom is very interesting because it focuses on the speaker?s intention and the intended affect on the listener. I feel like this is a very useful tool when teaching abroad to help students understand why or why not what they say is acceptable at the workplace.
