As a veteran teacher, this was one of those units that served as a series of \"good reminders.\" From teacher roles to classroom set-up, the information was presented lucidly and succinctly; I am likely to take advantage of some of the ideas in my preparation of pre-service teachers. What was new and novel for me, however, were the wonderful tables delineating the different levels of English language learning I would be likely to find in a classroom. The way in which it was broken down provided a clear template that I could use in developing a rough assessment of student levels if I was unable to administer some sort of intake evaluation.
