This unit continues the trend of effectively incorporating earlier material. I found the progression from learning present tenses then past tenses and lastly future tenses to be a very logical organization of the course material. The \"going to future\" was an interesting case. I've recently learned that this is called \"futur proche\" in the French language. Like the English \"going to\" tense, futur proche combines the verb \"allez\" (\"to go\") with the present infinitive form of the verb being used. This unit identifies the use of the infinitive in title and section headings (see pages 1 and 7 of unit 8) but does not refer to the infinitive when describing how the tense is formed grammatically. In fact, the instructions to combine \"going to\" with the verb elide the fact that \"to\" is part of the infinitive expression in English. In order to give a full understanding of the concept, the instructions ought to be something more like \"combine 'going' with the infinitive form of the verb.\" On the other hand, learners of English might be best served without having to absorb concepts like infinitives in which case \"going to\" + works just fine.
