Lesson planning is the most important learning for my journey to becoming a ESL teacher. I have never prepared a lesson plan before. Planning a lesson plan is important to me because I feel that it will keep me organized. I think there needs to be a balance for a lesson plan and flexibility to refrain from becoming rigid. What I should keep in mind when preparing my lesson plan is keep it simple, don't script lesson, structure it, write anticipated time for each lesson, and keep it flexible. I should include learner objectives, personal aims, language points, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, interaction, class level, number of students, date/time, and teachers and observers name. Planning a sequence lesson plans need flexibility, goals, revisions, and variety and balance. Lesson planning will give the right map and tools to run a smooth classroom and also can create to new creative ideas for the classroom learning.
