This unit provides an overview of the two productive skills: speaking and writing, as well as the short section about the role of games in the classroom. In the speaking section, the difference between accuracy and fluency is made, and the differences between controlled, guided and creative communication activities, as well as examples for each group. There are also some techniques to help teachers encourage their students to talk (pair work, group work, changing the classroom dynamics, etc.). The writing section tells us about the importance of different factors that affect acquiring this skill (handwriting, spelling, different layouts and punctuation). As with the speaking section, there is an ESA model lesson to help us picture what a real class should look like. The final part is about games, the different types of games (competitive or cooperative, communicative or linguistic) as well as some examples of games (hangman, tic tac toe, jeopardy).
