This unit specializes in teaching special groups. The special groups mentioned in this unit include beginners, individuals, children, and business/ English for special purposes. It is important to understand that there are different levels of beginners. Each level has different pros and cons as well as reasons behind their motivating in participating in the course. When planning lessons for individuals you have to remember that lessons for large classes are not always applicable to individual work. When teaching children it is important to remember that students pick up language relatively quickly, but lose motivation rather quickly and have relatively short attention spans, so variation is key. Finally, when teaching business or for special purposes it is important to remember that students have different motivations for participating and also come in at different language levels. Try to teach your class based on the wants and needs of your students.
