The unit title is Classroom Management and some key areas from the unit included the use of eye contact and gestures, the importance of voice and knowing students' names as well as information on grouping students. One of the major highlights from this unit for me was the area on confirming the understanding of students. I have very often simply asked students the question \"do you understand\" but this unit pointed out that asking students questions surrounding what is required of them in completing an activity is a much more effective way of checking their understanding. The unit also showed some tips on writing on the board and still maintaining a level of interaction with students. The unit further examined the benefits and disadvantages of TTT and showed some ways of reducing TTT. The value of giving clear instructions in a classroom should never be underplayed and in this unit some major points to be observed such as using visual aids and being consistent were discussed. The unit concluded by focusing on discipline in the classroom and stating some of the reasons for problem behaviour as well as providing some ways of responding to problem behaviour.
