This unit began by discussing the various conditionals in the English language, such as the zero, first, second, third and missed conditionals. An example of a zero conditional is a sentence that states an irrefutable fact, that a consequence of an action will always take place, such as \"Water turns to steam if you boil it\". Teaching ideas for these conditionals involve using chain conditionals where students must constantly come up with a new conditional following on from the consequence of the previous conditional, this will get students engaging and producing language by themselves, thus increasing student talk time as well as getting them to use all the types of conditionals in one exercise. The unit then dealt with direct and reported speech, which is an interesting section, as well as important because there is lots of room for error as it requires the learners to have a sound knowledge of the different tenses as well as the rules of the reported speech. The unit showed how the verbs change, as well as the times need to change with regards to tense and time past when changing direct speech to reported speech an vice versa, such as changing the sentence \"I love you\
