Unit 8 is similar to unit 7, the previous unit was based on reading and listening while this unit is based on speaking and listening. Usually we all consider speaking to be easier than writing but i would say in Asia it is different. Students maybe willing to try to write but do not want to speak. As mentioned in this unit, it may be because of lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, peer intimidations or simply just lack of interest. While studying this unit, it gave me a better understanding of how i can handle the class and provide them with a good learning environment. The usage of accuracy and fluency activities would be great to use as now i can divide what i want for the lesson or how i want to incorporate it in class and get them to be engage and activate. I strongly believe that guided activities would be really helpful as i can use model dialogues to get them to speak or act out a role-play which students always love to do so and it will allow me to work on their language. On the other hand i can also try to have them to write a free role play in a group and then act it out for the class which would also help with their writing, speaking and their creativeness.
