This unit is about the Future Tense. It IS the most complex tense of all the tenses. As an English second language speaker myself, i admit that it is easy to get confused. Future simple's form is will/shall( for formal) and is simply an action in the future. With usages of future facts,promises/threats/prediction/assumption/spontaneous decision and threats. Future Continuous form is will+be = verb+ing. This is an action in progress at a particular time in the future, to predict the present, for polite inquiries referring to other people's plans, but not to influence the listener's intentions and to refer to future events which are fixed or decided. Future perfect with will + have = past participle refers to an action in the future that will have been completed by a certain point in the future. Future perfect continuous with will+ have+ been +verb + ing refers to how long an action had been taking place up until a certain point in the future. Will can take the form of might/may.The be going to+infinitive (going to\" future)is different from Present Continuous in that 'going to' is followed by a verb, always(this helped me a lot)Present Simple for future is mostly about scheduling/timetables on often airports or railways. Present Continuous for future is nearly the same as present tense but with future applications / arrangements. We're playing football on Sunday. It is arranged. With every unit I learn so much. The 3 extra future tenses were new to me and as always I find the teacher activities inspiring...as I have never taught English language as a subject, this gives me ideas where other teachers have experience. Mostly with Future tense I have discovered the value of a planner or calendar. Looking at the form of sentences helps me to identify structure.
