Watching these to videos was really useful and you could definitely see how much better lesson 2 was than lesson 1. Right from the beginning, just having the teacher smile and say hello made all the difference. He not only started with a positive attitude, he continued like this for the whole lesson. The students were much more interested in the class and you could see they enjoyed being there and were willing to participate. It also showed that being organised and having a plan of how the lesson will go, is effective. Also using different methods such as picture cards, miming, etc to elicit more animals from the students was very effective. The attitude of the teacher in lesson 1 wasn't nice and you could see the students were intimidated and too scared to say anything in case they got it wrong. These videos were very helpful in showing successful a class can be by the teacher having a good attitude, enjoying what they do, being prepared and treating the students fairly. It also showed that the language point has to be right for the different levels.
