In this lesson, I learned about future tenses and how to use and teach them. I also learned that there are seven most common tense systems within the future tense. They are: The future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, present simple, and the present continuous. The future simple tense is used for future facts and certainties, promises, and prediction that have no present evidence at the time. The future continuous tense is used to express that something will be in progress in the future, to guess what is happening somewhere else in the moment, inquiries, and to refer to future events that have already been decided. The future perfect tense is used when one would want to express when something will be completed or achieved in the future and the future perfect continuous expresses how long an event will have continued by a certain point in time. The be going future tense is used to express intention, prediction based on present evidence, and plans that were made before the conversation. Present simple and present continuous do have a place in the future tense and can be easily mixed up with the simple and continuous forms of the present tense.
