This unit has dealt with the seven variations of the future tense: the future simple (can be used to express intentions); future perfect (to express an action that will be completed by a certain time in future); future continuous (to express an action that will be happening in future indefinitely); future perfect continuous (for an event that will be in progress even at a particular time in future); going to future (can be used to make predictions); present simple (to state something that is on a schedule); present continuous with future meaning (to indicate a decision that will be enacted in future). Following are examples of sentences that use different forms of future tense: I will not let you down. (future simple) By tomorrow five o'clock, we will have notified you of the final outcome. (future perfect) After everything that happened, will she still be willing to stay here? (future continuous) Next month the third, he will have been working here for three years. (future perfect continuous) The weather forecast shows that it's going to rain. (going to future) The flight leaves tomorrow at seven o'clock. (present simple) We are taking leave from work. (Present continuous with future meaning)
