I have learnt that there are twelve tense's in the English language. The three different time frames are Past, Present and Future and they each have four aspects in which they can be spoken from that define what tense the subject is speaking from, simple, continuous, present perfect and perfect continuous. This unit only looked at the Present tenses. Studying this unit has helped me to better understand why sentences are structured a certain way depending on the at what time you are referencing the action as happening. Learning that each tense had an affirmative, negative and question way to structure a sentence was very helpful in breaking down a sentence to know what tense it was. The video in particular was very useful in its basic presentation of each present tense using the same example of football but in each tense. I referred to this example a lot to help me understand what tense I was writing my example questions. The ideas for action activities given in the video were also very helpful for lessons I will need to plan. I will need to continue to review my notes on this unit so that I feel I have a strong knowledge of present tense so that I can feel confident in my teaching of it to future students.
