I gained a better understanding of how to teach specific areas of language. Learning how to teach about vocabulary and grammar are obviously huge parts of learning how to teach, so this unit was very helpful. Knowing the challenges of teaching, such as looser structure in teaching vocabulary, helps prepare for difficulties to come and how to best deal with them. This lesson also drilled in more of the ESA structure and usage, which will be crucial for teaching. The inclusion of examples of activities and how to teach specific things, like games and word searches and other tools for vocabulary, is really helpful for brainstorming future plans.
