Unit 20 helps identify ways to over come a few common problems teachers might run into during their tenure. Many of the problems reviewed in this unit I have already encountered. First class instruction has been very reassuring, I have used the techniques described to help get to know one another. I have worked with large and small classes and encountered the trouble with each but luckily many of the skills in this unit are common sense. Pairing students and doing group work along with choral repetition just help build relationships in the class and reassure everyone that they can do this respectively. My encounters with reluctant students is still troubling but you do see some ease when they can work with a friend instead of having to talk to the \"big scary\" teacher. I hope to bring in recording equipment so they can do some private practice , I am really glad recording was encouraged. I thought the section on use of native language was very informative and helpful b/c for younger students I want to lean on the native teachers to help communicate ideas more but apparently I shouldn't which was good to read. All in all the information in this unit helped reinforce, encourage and inform as I move forward on this journey
