This unit covers potential problems and situations; such as first lessons and establishing rapport with new and existing groups, teaching a group of varying levels, teaching large classes, handling the use of native language, encouraging reluctant students, and difficulties with listening texts. Each of these situations is addressed with possible solutions.In this unit we watched 2 example classes - one with poor teaching and the other with sound teaching. The teachers attitude and approach to teaching will play a major role in what outcome the class has. In the second video, the teacher met the needs of the students much better with an improved attitude and as a result he got participation from all students.
